Romero
World-renowned Pepe Romero wil be the guest for the Classical Summit.
Pepe Romero has performed with all of the leading orchestras of the
world, made over 50 recordings, and has had compositions written for
and dedicated to him by notable composers including Joaquin Rodrigo,
Federico Moreno Torroba, and Celedonio Romero.
Four students will be selected to play through a tape audition. Please

The SET-UP:
The Classical Summit is designed for anyone who enjoys playing classical
guitar. Many of the students are serious, advanced players attending
or preparing for music school, while others are adult or teenage hobbyists.
Levels range from beginner through very advanced.
Every Student Chooses One Major
Classical Guitar for Beginners and Beyond with Andrew Leonard. For
less experienced students who “feel not-quite-ready for prime
time.”
Technique and Musicianship (del Monte, Gray, Gunod, Holzman, Kavanagh,
Masters, Provost, Yelverton)
Intermediate to advanced students indicate their level of interest
in all eight teachers (#1–#8) and are assigned four lessons
based on their priorities. When not performing in one of these four
lessons, students may observe any teacher’s class. Teacher assignments
are first-come, first-served and are not guaranteed.

Attend Evening Concerts
Attend Master Class with Pepe Romero
Attend Evening Lectures with Thomas Humphrey, Luthier
Participate in “Classical Jams”Come sight-read with your
friends after dinner in a fun, informal setting.
Attend or Perform in the Juried Student Recital. Those students who
do not wish to compete or play in the Master Class may perform in
this afternoon concert. Ensembles as well as soloists are welcome
to play. Faculty will offer written comments. (Limited space, first-come,
first-served.)
SCHOLARSHIPS
Work/Study scholarships are available for upper-class college music
majors and graduate students who would be interested in staffing the
“Classical Jams.” Need-based scholarships are available.
